Science week

This week in Year R we took part in lots of different Science investigations and explorations.

We found out what happens when mentoes are added to coke, investigated how we could make holes in ice without it breaking, what a magnet can do, and what happens to food when it is mixed together and cooked.

We also looked at seasonal changes and hunted for colours in the outdoor area, trying to find the colours of the rainbow.

While outside the children found pieces of plastic that they initially thought could be put onto their rainbows. We discussed the problem of plastic rubbish and what it can do to the wildlife around. The children have been using the litter pickers and bags to clear some of the rubbish they find in the outdoor area now.
